The ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board is a beginner-intermediate level board that won’t make a dent in your wallet. Just don’t dent it on the rocks!
It’s been a while since Paddle Boards Sale reviewed a board that’s not inflatable. It’s refreshing then to come across a rigid paddle board like the ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board that really aims for the beginner market, and ticks most of the boxes.
There are two different lengths to choose from – either nine foot eight inches (9”8”) or ten foot eight inches (10’8”).
You can also select between two color schemes – light blue and light wood.
There’s a built-in hand grip on the board, so carrying it is fairly easy, although those with shorter arms may not have as much reach as taller paddlers.
The included aluminium paddle can extend to a maximum length of 85”, which makes it usable for paddlers up to the height of 6’4”.
The ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board is made with, you guessed it, a soft Polyethylene top. This makes it a bit more forgiving if you fall on it, and feels soft under foot. It has an EPS core with three stringers, which makes it a very durable paddle board – especially for the price.
Although this paddle board doesn’t come with a deck grip, the soft top allows your feet to be firmly planted, and not feel like you’ll slip off.
Don’t let the words “soft top” fool you, however. You can easily take a small-medium sized dog on the front without fear of punching its nails through the surface.
The deck can dent if not looked after, however, so make sure to not throw the paddle board around when not in the water, or brush up against rocks on a regular basis.
A tip for transporting these types of boards is to make sure you place a towel in between the board and any straps – such as a bungee – when placing it on top of your car. Doing this will help prevent any marks appearing on your paddle board.
These types of boards are great for those wanting to try their hand at SUP Yoga. The soft surface makes yoga positions comfortable to be in.
Both versions of this board feel quite light, and is probably better suited to flat water paddling over small surf conditions. This is not to say you cannot have a go in the surf, but the board can tend to be thrown around a bit, especially in choppy or windy conditions.
The ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board is aimed at the beginner to intermediate level. You won’t find yourself winning any paddle board races with it, but you can be confident that it is stable in the water, and will get you where you need to go at a comfortable pace.
The ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board comes with a 180-day guarantee on all materials, so if you find anything defective you can safely return it for a replacement. It also comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, although you will have to pay the return freight charges.back to menu ↑
If you go for the 9’6” model, the width is thirty-three inches (33”) wide, and five inches (5”) thick. The volume for this stand up paddle board is 175ltr. The board weighs 24lbs, and the maximum weight limit for this paddle board is 225lbs, but you can go higher if you’ve got intermediate paddling skills.
The 10’8” model is thirty-one inches (31”) wide and five inches (5”) thick, with a volume of 206ltr. The board weighs in at 27lbs, and the maximum weight this paddle board can take is approx. 275lbs, but as with the smaller model, if you’re an experienced paddle boarder, you should be able to safely exceed these requirements.back to menu ↑
The ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board comes with a nine inch (9”) rear center fin, and also a leg leash. The fin is attached by angling it into the groove on the board, and then sliding it forward. It snaps into place, and then allows you to screw it in so you don’t lose it in the water.
As there is nothing that can really stick to the board, there is no ability to add any deck bungees, but if you’re on flat water, the beck is wide enough that you could easily place an object, such as a day bag, onto it without fear of it sliding off.back to menu ↑
Pros and cons
- Good price
- Durable (for a soft board)

- No ability to add deck bungees
ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board conclusion
Overall, the ISLE Classic Soft Top Stand Up Paddle Board is a well-designed rigid stand up paddle board that can be very forgiving to those new to paddle boarding. As the deck is made from Polyethylene (think Styrofoam), it does suffer from dents if not looked after.
